Mario's Galactic Adventure Preview Debuts, Introducing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo alongside Illumination released the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. It was showcased in a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the upcoming animated film.
Following up on the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the far corners of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a fresh princess character and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.
An Interstellar Journey Inspired by Classic Games
Similar to the games from the Wii period that provide its foundation, Mario will depart from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. Throughout his extensive trek, he will reunite with some recognizable characters, for instance the Luma, a breakout star from the previous film.
Yet it looks like Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who apparently utilizes powers related to metal. Notably, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-inspired imagery; it also features references to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers
The feature will welcome back of the original voice cast, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.

The new Mario movie is planned to debut close to the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 promises to be a major period for Mario and his allies.
